Cambions

Overview

Cambions are extremely rare beings born from the touch of an outsider. Any mortal race can bear a Cambion, but the overwhelming influence of the outsider overrides most other characteristics.

Player Cambions

Ability Score Increase: Cambions are universally born with a powerful sense of self and gain +2 to their Charisma.
Size: Cambions are medium creatures.
Speed: Cambions inherit both the base movement speed and bodyform (eg. Aquatic/Serpentine) of their mortal parent.
Languages: You can naturally speak Common and the language of your mortal parent.
Subrace: Choose one of the below subraces.

Child of the Ancients

Ability Score Increase: Cambions born of the ancients also gain +1 to their Wisdom.
Resiliant Form: Your body straddles the line between living and non-living matter. You are immune to disease. You do not need to eat or breathe, but you can ingest food and drink if you wish. Instead of sleeping, you enter an inactive state for 4 hours each day. You do not dream in this state, you are fully aware of your surroundings and notice approaching enemies and other events as normal.
Ancient Legacy: You know the Prestidigitation cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Chromatic Orb spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Once you reach 5th level, you can cast the Protection From Energy once with this trait as a 3rd-level spell, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Altered by the Ancient: Choose one – Fire, Cold, Electricity, Thunder or Acid. Your affinity with this element grants you Resistance against this type of damage.

Kin of the Stars

Ability Score Increase: Cambions born of the Stars also gain +1 to their constitution.
Radiant Blood: You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Blessed: When you roll a 1 on an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can re-roll the die and must use the new roll.
Brilliant Legacy: You know the light cantrip. Once you reach 3rd level, you can cast the lesser restoration spell once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Once you reach 5th level, you can cast the daylight spell once with this trait as a 3rd-level spell, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Touched by the Light: You have resistance against radiant damage.

Spawn of the Shadow

Ability Score Increase: Cambions born to the Shadow also gain +1 to their Intelligence.
Superior Darkvision: Thanks to your affinity with darkness, you have superior vision in dark and dim Conditions. You can see in dim light within 120 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in Darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in Darkness, only shades of gray.
Endarkened Legacy: You know the Thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the Hellish Rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a Long Rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the Darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a Long Rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these Spells.
Swallowed By Darkness: You have resistance against necrotic damage.
